it is by a russian author and is about people from about 2050 who build a time machine and travel to prehistoric times. when they arrive they have to stay on a magnetic path where nothing is affected by their presence. on of the company steps off the path and kills a cricket. the death of the cricket affects the future of mankind and everything they know of home is gone. i don’t know how it ends and anything else about the book. i think it is a children’s/young adult book though. thanks!
