How do I format a letter to an author?

I have to do an english project and we have to write a letter to an author but I don’t know if I should format it like a business letter or if there’s a whole different format. Or should I use a friendly letter format?
I just have to write about like general stuff, if i like her bks or not, what kinds of things I really liked, and stuff. Do I have to write my adress and her adress (if i can find it) in the letter like a business format? Or just the adress on the envelope like a friendly format?

I read a book and want to know the title and author?

I once read a book where a couple sold their home in the UK and brought a derelict farmhouse in Portugal.
They drove through Europe in a campervan and lived in the van for a year whilst re-building the farmhouse.

I would like to get my hands on this book, I believe it is white and approx 1/2″ thick.

If anyone knows the title/author of this book then that may be of help in my search.
